Why Use Remanufactured Toner Cartridges?

Remanufactured toner cartridges save resources by reusing components instead of disposing of them after one use.

Each year, millions of empty toner and inkjet cartridges are used in printers, fax machines and copiers.  Then the empty cartridge is thrown in the trash destined for our precious landfills where it will take over one million years for it to breakdown.

Remanufactured toner and inkjet cartridges offer clear advantages over new cartridges in cost, waste reduction and even product quality.

The quality of remanufactured and/or compatible laser printer toner cartridges has improved dramatically since these products were introduced more than fifteen years ago.  High quality remanufactured/compatible cartridges now undergo a complete remanufacturing process that renders a finished cartridge that is equivalent in performance, quality and page yield to new models and that meet or exceed all original equipment manufacturer (OEM) standards and specifications.

Reputable company's today have moved away form the old "drill and fill" method that created the initial problems in the remanufacturing industry a decade ago.    The current remanufacturing process requires the complete disassembly and inspection of all parts to determine any problem areas.  Worn components are replaced with new parts; all sections are are completely cleaned and a fresh supply of toner is added before the cartridge is reassembled.

Most cartridge remanufacturers collect used cartridges, reducing user-generated waste.  Some OEM suppliers offer end-of-life recycling also.  While not offering the same environmental or economic benefits as buying remanufactured cartridges, this option does prevent spent cartridges from becoming waste.

Buying locally remanufactured toner and inkjet cartridges and then recycling the empty cartridges is an easy way for businesses, local government agencies and individuals to reduce the environmental impact while saving substantial tax dollars and bolstering the local economy at the same time.  Any office equipment that uses a replaceable toner or inkjet cartridge should be able to use remanufactured supplies.
